There's no place like home...
Kansas Illinois is a small village nestled in the middle of the Midwest Corn Belt of East Central Illinois. We are the western gateway to Edgar County on Route 16.
Clean out all those old electronics stacking up in your attics, basements, garages and sheds.
The Village of Kansas has COM2 Recycling Solutions to come and take all the electronic waste our regular garbage collectors won't accept.
Bring your electronics to the Mini-Park next to the Edgar County Bank branch on Buena Vista St between 8am and 12 noon Saturday April 25th.
Accepting all electronics. Computers, Monitors, TVs, Printers, Coffee Pots, Mixers etc.
Pots of flowers will be placed on both sides of Buena Vista St. We supply the pot, soil and plants; we ask that you maintain them.
People and businesses can adopt a pot for $50. A sign will be placed in each pot with the donor’s name.
This fundraising event will help us with other beautification projects.
The planting date for this fun project is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, all are welcome to come out and help.

The Village of Kansas Beautification Committee is holding a planning meeting for a one day ‘Kansas Celebration’ festival.
Tuesday, April 21st, 2015 @ 6:30pm at the Village Hall
This event is intended to bring the residents of Kansas together to celebrate small town living. A sense of community grows from events like this that increase awareness that we’re more than a gas station on route 16.
We are compiling notes and conferring with some other organizations but will have a tentative schedule for public review before the meeting.
We’re looking for any suggestions that can make this a successful community building event.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help things run smoothly.
